Someone to help me. Pleeease?
By 1914, Borges’ father was obligated to quit his profession, retiring as a teacher because of the same blindness which decades later also affected his child. Together with his family, his father went to Europe for a special ophthalmological treatment. Then, the family lived in Ginebra, Suiza, where the young Borges and his sister Norah (born in 1902) attended primary school. During this period, he read a lot about the French Realism writers and both expressionist and symbolist poets, especially Rimbaud. At the same time, discovered Schopenahuer, Nietzche, and Chesterton. With the help of just a dictionary, he learned German by himself and wrote his first poems in French
