Interested in becoming a dj but dont know where to start?

I have been into trance for quite some time and look up to djs such as tiesto,armin,swedish house mafia...and i would like to try my hand at the artform... I have always been into the music even when i was growing up but never really had the time or the money to get into it. I have been doing alot of research and amost all the websites give different ideas on what the beginners set up would be...im intrested in the old school method and would like to use vinyl but if that seems to be too outdated im down to learn with the cdj's all help and info would be greatly appreciated!!!
