Solution to rising oceans and drought!?

Pump water out of the ocean, desalinate it and use it for drinking and watering crops. We will have a source of hydrogen if we make hydrogen powered cars. The ocean can spare the water if ocean levels are rising. So will it fly with enviromentalists or will the hate it.
