Calling Obama a 'socialist' doesn't seem so far fetched now, does it?

It still is far fetched. It appears the "new" definition extends to any social program. That is not what socialism really is. It really is a system where you eliminate all private property, where the the production of goods is owned collectively or by the government, or the first stage to Marx's version of communism, which includes the eventual withering away of all government.
