As an American, what EPL team should I root for?

I play a lot of FIFA and catch some soccer on TV and I want a team to root for. Man U and Chelsea are definently out. My favorite teams to play with in the video game are Arsenal and Manchester City...I want a good team to root for, but I don't want to be a frontrunner. I also don't want to root for Tottenham because a lot of people do it because Bill Simmons picked it as his team and also my friend roots for Tottenham and I want to be able to talk trash to him. Any suggestions other than Chelsea, Man U, and Tottenham will help. Thanks!
